2021 Virtual Walk-A-Thon Event Details
Spring is here which means nice weather, sunshine, and our 21st Annual Step Up for The Arc Walk-a-thon! We are launching a new campaign to come together, foster awareness, and raise critical funding to support The Arc Middlesex’s programs and resources for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families. We would love for you to join us in our mission!

This year you can also create your own fundraising page, build your own fundraising team, or join a pre-existing team to further support The Arc Middlesex’s mission and goal. Starting a fundraiser is easy to do, and it’s fun. By becoming a fundraiser for The Arc Middlesex, you will help more people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year will be different. Instead of gathering together, we are inviting you to Step Up for The Arc Middlesex in a safe & social distanced manner: walking, running, or rolling in your own neighborhood, on a local trail, or even on a treadmill. We are extremely excited about this event and hope you will be a part of it!
Our event kicks off Memorial Day Weekend on Sunday, May 30th, 2021. We invite you to walk and raise money for your fundraising page/team page until Wednesday, June 30th, 2021. Take photos of your walk to share with us and other participants on social media. Prizes for our photo contest will be given out after the conclusion of our virtual walk-a-thon.
Our photo contest categories include:
• Most Scenic Walking Route
• Cutest furry friend
• Wackiest Walk-a-Thon outfit
• Most Miles Walked (use the app Map My Run and submit screenshots of your miles logged)
• Most Team Spirit
• Most Creative Cheer Sign

11:00am: Join us for our virtual Opening Ceremony which includes a warm-up stretch (appropriate for all ability levels), photo contest prize announcements, as well as sponsor shout outs. A Zoom link will be emailed out the week before our event begins to your registration email.
Walk or Run at any time between Sunday, May 30 and Wednesday, June 30. During a virtual walk-a-thon, you pick the time, place, and distance of your walk!
